Installation

Flatten draws 60 mA from the +12 V rail and 55 mA from the −12 V rail. The red stripe on the ribbon cable faces the bottom edge of the module.

Front panel

Tilt

Sets the gain of the shelf ahead of the clipper, from −18 dB to +18 dB. At the centre detent the shelf is flat and the module is a plain clipper.

Slope

Sets the order of both shelves together. The pair stays complementary at every setting, so the output balance does not move when you turn this.

Knee

Sets the width of the clipper transition, from a hard corner to a wide curve that reaches full limiting around 6 dB above the threshold.

Calibration

The two shelves are matched at the factory. If the output balance drifts, the trimmer behind the Slope control corrects the second shelf against the first.
