platform

install

  1. Unzip the file you downloaded from Gumroad.

  2. Open a terminal in the unzipped folder. Most file managers offer “Open in Terminal” when you right-click a folder.

  3. Run the install script, which copies r4 into ~/.clap, ~/.lv2 and ~/.vst3, replacing any old installation.

    sh install.sh

  4. When your DAW next scans for plugins, it should find r4.

  1. Double-click the file you downloaded from Gumroad to unzip it, and open the unzipped folder. Safari may have unzipped it already.

  2. Open a second Finder window, choose Go › Go to Folder, and paste this:

    ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins

  3. Copy r4.clap into the CLAP folder there, r4.lv2 into LV2, r4.vst3 into VST3, and r4.component into Components, replacing any old copies. Create a folder if it is missing.

  4. When your DAW next scans for plugins, it should find r4.

  1. Right-click the file you downloaded from Gumroad, choose “Extract All”, and open the extracted folder.

  2. Open a second File Explorer window, and paste this into its address bar:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files

  3. Copy r4.clap into the CLAP folder there and r4.vst3 into VST3, replacing any old copies. Create a folder if it is missing. Changing these folders requires administrator permission.

  4. When your DAW next scans for plugins, it should find r4.

uninstall

  1. Open a terminal in the unzipped folder.

  2. Run the install script with --uninstall, which deletes r4 from ~/.clap, ~/.lv2 and ~/.vst3.

    sh install.sh --uninstall

  1. In Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder, and paste this:

    ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins

  2. Move r4.clap from the CLAP folder to the Trash, r4.lv2 from LV2, r4.vst3 from VST3, and r4.component from Components.

  1. In File Explorer, open C:\Program Files\Common Files.

  2. Delete r4.clap from the CLAP folder and r4.vst3 from VST3.
